Navy helicopter crashes off San Diego

A U.S. Navy helicopter carrying five crew members went down off the waters of San Diego late Tuesday night. Rescue workers recovered three bodies while they continue to search for the other two crew members.

No further details concerning the deaths were immediately available.

The helicopter crashed 20 miles off the Mexican coast, near Coronado Islands.

The SH60 Seahawk helicopter had taken off from the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz before it went into the sea for a training exercise late Tuesday.

Coast Guard and Navy helicopters and boats have joined in the search for the missing crew members.
