BREAKING NEWS: First Person Dies of Swine Flu in Onondaga County


SYRACUSE, NY--The first H1N1 death in Onondaga County was reported this morning. Dr. Cynthia Morrow, the Onondaga County Health Commissioner, said the individual died in the hospital last night but did not release a name, gender, or any details regarding the death. Morrow did state that the individual was an adult and had an underlying health problem.

Ten new cases were reported by Onondaga County Health Department today. A total of 42 cases have been reported in the county.

The New York City Health Department announced two more H1N1 deaths today. Both individuals were in their 40s. Seven people in New York City have died from the virus. All but one of the deaths happened to individuals with other health problems; the remaining case is still being investigated.
